Netto / Brutto:

  1. Bruttopreis = Nettopreis + Mehrwertsteuer
    1. Nettobetrag = ohne Mwst.
    2. Bruttobetrag = mit Mwst.

Apple iPhone5 Settings:

  1. A cellular network can carry a data or voice service.
    1. The cellular voice service provides you a fone, a voice mailbox & SMS service.
    2. The cellular data service is used for (WAN) data communication in cellular networks. It doesn't affect your ability to make/receive phonecalls or use Wi-Fi (LAN) to connect to the Internet - more details...
      1. If you turn off cellular data, you won't be able to send/receive data via the internet, retrieve MMS messages, or use a Personal Hotspot.
      2. Data Roaming allows you to access the Internet over a cellular data network when you're in an area that isn't covered by your carrier's network. When you're traveling, you can turn off Data Roaming to avoid roaming charges. Thus Data Roaming can ensure that you don’t consume cell bytes while you’re outside the home area for your carrier. In some cases, you might have limits; in others, you might be charged:
        1. The EU Internet toggle is used to select an access point (data carrier, when roaming) which is a generic European network, so that you can be charged for roaming by an alternative network provider. Recent legislation says that European carriers are not allowed to apply any extra charges for roaming. European customers will always pay the same price for all phone calls, SMS & data usage
  2. Criteria for network service:
    1. Range extension over a physical area: Nationwide vs Local
    2. Speed depending on cable vs DSL connection vs 4G internet
    3. Coverage based on user's current location & signal strength/stability. Wireless LAN (aka Wi-Fi) may only be offered in a certain geographical location limited to hundreds of feet. Cellular is everywhere.

How many different games of Solitaire are possible?

A well shuffled deck of cards has 52 factorial different possibilities. You can think of it this way. The first card you put down can be any one of 52 possible cards. The next card can be any one of the 51 remaining cards. The next can be any one of the remaining 50, and so on. This is expressed mathematically as 52! possibilities:
52! = 52 * 51 * 50 * … * 3 * 2 * 1 = 8 x 1067
That’s 8 with 67 zeros after it. Let’s say you took 7 billion persons (roughly the number of people on our planet) and asked them to play 1'000 games of solitaire each, every single day, for the next 1'000'000 years. So if the entire human race are doing nothing but playing a thousand solitaire per day for a million years; they would play:
7'000'000'000 * 1'000 * 365 * 1'000'000 = 2'555'000'000'000'000'000'000 = 2 x 1021 different games = 2 x 10-45 % of total possibilities.
All that solitaire playing does not even begin to put a dent in all the possible games of solitaire! Hence it is quite possible that every game of solitaire you ever play is unique and will never be played again ever; although your odds of winning are roughly 1 out of 6 games.

How fast does the earth spin?

  • Standing on the equator, you'll have a linear speed of 1'036 mph (1'667 kph) or mach=1,4.
  • An average bolt of lightning carries an electric current of 30,000 amperes and transfers 500 mega-joules of energy (megawatts).

Tidal Effect

The tides, which are caused by the gravitational forces between the earth, the sun and the moon, produce tidal friction as they interact with earth. This drag adds about 2.3 milliseconds to our day, every century (or +2,3 sec/day per millennia).
