Why can't we transmit electricity wirelessly?

Wireless Transmition of Electricity:

This is not possible because a copper wire can carry much greater electrical power than air.

The voltage or strength of the electric field must be strong enough to heat the tungsten filament (or bulb) to incandesce. The electrical power carried in a copper wire is much greater than in air.

The copper cable conducts the electric field (directly to the household appliance) preserving this voltage & preventing it from dissipating in every direction.
