Earth's Orbit

Earth's journey around the Sun:

The earth processes around the sun every 112 thousand years. The delta between the perihelion and the aphelion = 5 million km. The eccentricity of our orbit is relatively low; about 0.0167 - but not a perfect circle.

For Venus, the difference is only approximately 1.5 million km. Venus has the most circular orbit of all the planets in our solar system, with a very low eccentricity of about 0.007. Venus is the second planet from the Sun, known for its incredibly thick, toxic carbon dioxide atmosphere, crushing atmospheric pressure, and extreme heat! It is hotter than Mercury due to a runaway greenhouse effect caused by its sulfuric acid clouds.

By contrast, Mercury's orbit is highly elliptical! The delta between its perihelion and its aphelion = 23.82 million km.
