Damm Design

Damm Engineering:

In the construction of a reservoir dam used for hydroelectric power, the water is located on the concave side of the curved wall. This design, known as an arch dam, allows the structure to efficiently transfer the pressure of the water to the abutments (the sides of the valley) rather than directly resisting the force itself.

This curvature helps the dam withstand the immense pressure exerted by the water, making it a more stable and robust structure.
