Running costs for EV

Rough Calculation:

The cost of running an EV depends on your annual mileage.  Supposing you travel 10'000 miles p.a. and your EV efficiency is 2,6 miles per kWh; then every year you will be charging your vehicle 3'846 kWh. If you're energy supplier charges you $0,15/kWh of electricity, then you will spend a total of $577 on recharging your car every year.

By comparison, if this was a combustion engine offering you a 20 mpg of efficiency, you'd be consuming 500 gallons p.a. Supposing fuel costs $4,5/gallon, then your total annual running cost is $2'250 (four times higher than EV).
