Upper Limit on Mbh:
The maximum mass that a black hole can reach through accretion (swallowing material) is 50 billion times the mass of our Sun ☀️ Otherwise growth can only be achieved via the mergers of black holes instead.
Note: the largest black hole detected is called TON618 which has a mass of 66 billion times the mass of our Sun. By contrast, the black hole at the centre of our milky way galaxy has a mass of 4 million times the mass of our Sun.
Ultramassive black holes such as the one located at the center of the galaxy called Abell 1201 weigh as much as 32 billion times the mass of our ☀️ Sun.
To put things in perspective, remember that our entire universe weighs an estimated 1060 kg = 5e+29 times the mass of our 🌞 Sun.
