Using PowerPoint:
- Select picture in PowerPoint to highlight "Picture Format" in top ribbon at the top of the screen
- Select the "Color" button from the top menu then choose "Set Transparent color" option
- Click on the white part of the image
Using Windows Paint-3D App:
- start new project
- import picture
- use "Magic Select" option
- drag corners of rectangle to select the object to keep
- click on Next to identify object to keep { equivalent to "select" in PhotoShop}
- click on "Add" or "Remove" buttons on the right-hand side then drag a line over image parts to capture/exclude
- check "Autofill background" option to fill object with background or white background
- click on Done
- copy/paste it wherever else it is needed e.g. new canvas in Paint-3D image
- finally use "Save as" → choose PNG file type with "Transparency" option selected
- click "Save" for MS-File dialogue
